Live Video Workshop (Additional Fee Applies ~ Limited Availability)

Live Video is the easiest ways to make an authentic connection with your audience. Bringing them into your kitchen is an experience that they enjoy and crave.

Kathy and Virginia want to remove the excuses between you and creating live video. You don’t need fancy equipment to get started. It’s not about being perfect, but about showcasing your personality and teaching style. We know that you can do this!

You will practice live video in small groups and individually in a supportive environment. You will learn tips, tricks, and get suggestions that will have you going live with confidence and ease.

Each participant will have the opportunity to produce and shoot practice segments, as well as receive individualized instruction and critique from the coaches.

Virginia and Kathy will also cover strategies for shooting live video including recipe selection, breakdown, blocking, best practices for message points, and techniques for audience retention.

You’ll also learn:

– How to conquer on-camera appearances
– Create eye-catching how-to videos
– Shoot engaging live video
– Apply valuable influencer strategies
– Build and enhance your brand
– Practical tips on wardrobe, posture, and on-camera energy.
– Specifics for the forms of live video on various social media
– How to create videos with a smartphone – get ready to shoot!
– Basic lighting, sound equipment options, and techniques
– Working with live-steaming software Best Practices for Facebook Live, IG Live
– Actually go live and practice in our private FB group during our class

Finally, we break into small groups and people practice going live in a private group so that everyone can see what they need to do on their own phone. This is what will ensure your live video success.

A little about your coaches:

Virginia Willis, on-air talent, culinary television producer, content creator, and James Beard award-winning cookbook author.

Virginia was the TV kitchen director for Martha Stewart, Bobby Flay, and Nathalie Dupree and executive producer for Epicurious TV on the Discovery Channel, having produced hundreds of cooking segments behind the camera. In front of the camera, she’s been seen on Food Network’s Chopped, CBS This Morning, QVC, CNN International, and Fox and Friends.

Kathy Hester, is a blogger, recipe developer, and the author of 11 cookbooks. She’s sold over 150,000 books to date and does cookbook PR on the side.

Kathy started doing live Facebook videos a few years ago and found that it forged a strong connection with her audience. She took those skills and started doing live online cooking classes that sell 5 figures a year, in addition to working with brands on Facebook lives.

Best of all, we will have a private Facebook group for us to go live in for the class and to continue supporting each other after the conference is over. In addition to that, each participant will get a free month of Kathy Hester’s Live Video Mentorship Program.

Media Training builds confidence. It’s more than memorizing message points and parroting phrases. Knowing how to deliver your message effectively and before an audience on camera or in person is a skill that must be practiced and honed.

In our hands-on Culinary Media Training we will teach essential principles of communicating your message, share techniques on choosing and developing eye-catching content.

Plus we coach you on how to be your best on camera, and provide supportive, constructive feedback to help ensure your success.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll understand how to transform your social media into a business tool. From positioning to promoting your brand, prepare to be creatively invigorated and ready to step into the spotlight.

Speed Networking (Additional Fee Applies ~ Limited Availability)

Speed Networking is an exclusive, ‘speed dating’ style event where attendees meet one-on-one with a sponsor representative prior to the conference officially kicking off.  This quality one-on-one time provides an opportunity for attendees to stand out from the masses.

The goal is to connect attendees with the companies and brands they want to do business with. The meetings are brief, focused, let’s-get-down-to-business, and scheduled ahead of time-based when accepted by both parties. Examples of use:

– Establish partnerships
– Discuss media kits and determine how to work together
– Discuss sponsorship and advertising opportunities
– Evaluate affiliate marketing relationships
– Provide product feedback

We anticipate at least 30 companies and brands (food, kitchenware, technology, photography, etc.) with several representatives from each.  See our sponsors page for up-to-date sponsors involved in Everything Food.

Only those who have purchased a Speed Networking ticket HERE.

[IMPORTANT!] Before the conference: Speed Networking attendees and sponsors will be given access to an online meeting scheduler, in order to request and book meetings. The online meeting scheduler will be accessible starting 4 weeks prior to EFC.

At the conference: Companies participating in Speed Networking will sit at tables in a spacious room. We will announce the 1st meeting time slot is beginning. Speed Networking attendees with scheduled meetings in their 1st-time slot will locate the correct company table and begin their meeting with the representatives onsite. After 7 minutes, we will announce it is time for the 2nd time slot. Speed Networking attendees will then have 1 minute to make their way to the next table and begin their next meeting. This will continue until Speed Networking ends.

With Speed Networking, you have concentrated face-to-face time with the businesses you want to work with.  You can get your business done without fighting for attention when booths are busy with other attendees.  Also, the brands know ahead of time who you are and can prepare best on how to work together.

Speed Networking participants have pre-conference access to an exclusively online meeting scheduler where they can meet, vet, and connect with the brands interested in doing business.

You can view all workshop and speed networking opportunities on our registration page HERE.

How To Create Simple High Converting Landing Pages ~ Suzi Whitford

The average time someone spends on a website is 15 seconds. That’s how much time a website creator has to grab their attention and get them to convert. Websites that are not utilizing the strategies of high converting pages, will have visitors that leave and may never return. But what if there was a way to convert those visitors into subscribers and get them to visit again and again?

By implementing simple high converting strategies in blog posts, landing pages and sales pages, it will be possible to generate more income with less traffic. Making small adjustments to text, layout and image placement can skyrocket conversions, fill up sales funnels and boost income.

How Do I Grow on Instagram? ~ Dr. Davinah Smith, Jenn Davis

Instagram can be a great marketing tool & a source of sponsored campaigns. But, let’s face it – Instagram is hard! With algorithm changes that don’t show your posts to your fans, to new features that demand more time and resources, Instagram is making it more difficult for your blog or business to be seen.

Many food bloggers don’t know where to begin in terms of adding substantial followers on IG. And, strategies like follow-for-follow and “engage more” are ineffective for long-term growth or not quite clear. (What does “engage more” even mean?!)

If you want to learn how to substantially grow your followers, reach and BUSINESS on IG, you won’t want to miss this session, moderated by Lori Shaw (@llshaw1) as Dr. Davinah Smith (@drdavinahs), Jenn Davis (@twocupsflour), and Nick Quintero (@mealpreponfleek) reveal their proven IG growth strategies.

Dinner & Main Event with Justin Willman

Magician/Comedian and recent Critics’ Choice nominee Justin Willman has cemented himself as one of today’s most prolific entertainers.

In 2018, Willman premiered his six-episode magic series on Netflix entitled Magic For Humans with Justin Willman. In the series, Willman brings his skills as a magician to the strange and misunderstood subcultures of America, while incorporating his disarming demeanor into street magic and social experiments that will boggle the mind. Upon premiering, the show instantly became one of the most streamed shows on Netflix with clips from the show garnering over 150 million views to date across social media, even sparking a viral meme. Indiewire called Willman the “perfect magician/hybrid prototype with incredible comedic timing,” and Rotten Tomatoes currently has the show listed at an 88%
audience approval.

Soon after the premiere, Magic for Humans was picked up for a second season which premiered December 4, 2019. In 2018, Willman had a residency aptly called “The Magic Show” at the historic and swanky Roosevelt Hotel in Los Angeles. The Magic Show was an intimate performance in a hidden, unmarked theater inside the hotel and upon announcing the show, all shows sold out almost immediately, well also attracting many of Hollywood’s most well-known names.

The L.A. Times exclaimed that Willman is, “A new breed of magician who’s making magic cool again for grown-ups.” Playboy Magazine dubbed him, “The freshest and funniest magician working today,” and Time Out hailed that his show, “Has to be seen to be disbelieved.”

Prior to Magic for Humans, Willman was known for his multiple appearances on The Tonight Show, Ellen and Conan. He also performed live at the White House for the Obama Family as well. His debut comedy/magic special Sleight of Mouth premiered on Comedy Central in 2015 to rave reviews. Willman is also a consultant & writer for film/television productions like America’s Got Talent, The Goldbergs and Disney’s upcoming feature film Magic Camp.
